CONDITIONS
MORNING:
Another 2" of snow overnight and an easterly wind added to snow and drift depth off the reservoier. Hiking requires snowshoes beyond our access point.
NOON:
1:00 PM Munger Trail packed from snowmobiles but rather mushy - Carlton Trail had a foot of fresh snow on hard pack. Snowshoes would be advised.
EVENING:
Skies were clear all day. Swinging Bridge in Jay Cooke is without snow - beyond the bridge snowshoes are a good idea.

the Present Day
An even day-length of twelve hours is but a few days away. Thomson Reservoir is drifted over on the west bank where we often go. Though snowshoes are a must, its worth the effort to go out on the ice. Carlton Trail was first touched by us after several days of snow and we drove to Swinging bridge around 5:00. With the exception of the bridge, photos are from Oldenburg's backyard.
