SNOW - 2 "
2" of snow overnight created no probliem for the morning hike. Overcast skies - a grey day. A light wind from the east.
Sky remains overcast. No wind to speak of and trails remain hardpacked. Off trail there is 2-3 feet of breakthrough.
The sun came through around 5:00 while out on Carlton Trail. Skies cleared in the evening.

the Present Day
The afternoon walk started around 4:30 PM. Backyard to Munger Trail then Carlton Trail to the ridge overlooking the St. Louis River Gorge. We were out and back in an hour. We met Keyen and his dog on the trail, fellow hikers one-in-all. It would be just the four of us in this part of the woods today - the snowfall twelve hours ago was quite explicit. There is no crowd in this neighborhood.
